Premier Vacuum Pump
The new Premier Vacuum Pump requires minimal oil changes or filtration. Thanks to its gas ballast feature, it prevents water from contaminating the oil. As a result, the oil remains clean and clear even after 30 or more batches. You typically won’t need to change the oil until after running 20 or more batches. In contrast, the oil in the Standard Vacuum Pump needs to be replaced and filtered every 4 to 5 batches (when using the new 3/8-inch vacuum hose).
*This pump can only be used with Small, Medium and Large Freeze Dryers
Vacuum Pressure
The Premier Pump generates a deeper vacuum compared to the Standard Pump, both in cold and hot conditions. In cold conditions, the Premier Pump operates at .05 Pascal, while the Standard Pump works at .08 Pascal. Under warmer conditions, the difference is even more significant: the Premier Pump pulls a vacuum at .05 Pascal, while the Standard Pump operates at 2.05 Pascal.
This makes the Premier Pump particularly effective in warmer environments, where it remains unaffected by heat, pulling a consistently deep vacuum even in higher temperatures.
Noise Level
The Premier Pump is notably quieter than the Standard Pump, operating at 52 decibels, compared to the Standard’s 64 decibels. At 52 decibels, the Premier Pump is about as loud as a refrigerator.
Oil Mist Filter
Both pumps come with an oil mist filter, but the Premier Pump's filter prevents any oil spray and lasts much longer.
Power Usage
The Premier Pump consumes less power than the Standard Pump, using 187 watts compared to the Standard’s 218 watts.
Amperage
When operating under hot conditions and at maximum vacuum pressure, the Standard Pump draws 2.1 amps, while the Premier Pump only requires 1.7 amps, making the Premier more energy-efficient.
Weight
The Premier Pump is lighter and easier to handle, weighing 32 lbs. compared to the Standard’s 37 lbs..
Lifespan
The Premier Pump is designed for greater durability and will last longer than the Standard Pump.

Liftgate Service, Curbside Delivery & What to Expect
We understand that freight shipping can be confusing — especially if you’ve never had a large item delivered this way. This page will walk you through exactly how it works, including what a liftgate is, what “curbside delivery” really means, and what to be prepared for when your order arrives.
Why Freight Is Used
Freight shipping is required for large or heavy products — usually those over 120 lbs or oversized dimensions. Unlike standard parcel shipping (UPS/FedEx), freight is handled by a trucking company using semi-trucks.
What is Curbside Delivery?
All of our freight shipments are curbside delivery by default, which means:
- A full-size semi-truck (typically 20 to 53 feet long) will arrive at your location.
- The truck will stop at the end of your driveway or nearest accessible point — not necessarily at your garage or door.
- The driver’s responsibility ends at the curb. It’s your responsibility to unload the item from the truck unless other arrangements are made.
Important: Some extremely large or heavy products are not eligible for residential delivery at all, even with liftgate service. In these cases, you will need to collect your order from the nearest freight terminal or depot. We will notify you if this applies to your order before it ships.
What Is a Liftgate?
A liftgate is a hydraulic platform on the back of a truck that can lower freight from the truck bed to the ground. Not all freight trucks are equipped with one, and it's not guaranteed unless you request it in advance.
If your delivery location does not have a forklift or loading dock, we strongly recommend ordering liftgate service.
- Liftgate fees typically range from $25 to $125, depending on the product or carrier.
- If the truck arrives without a liftgate and you’re unable to unload, you may be charged re-delivery and full liftgate fees.
What Drivers Are (and Aren’t) Required to Do
- Drivers are not required to assist with unloading
- Some drivers may help at their discretion, but this is not guaranteed
- If the truck can safely pull into your driveway and turn around, they may accommodate — but it’s entirely up to the driver
- If your road or driveway is inaccessible to large trucks, you’ll need to meet the driver at the nearest accessible location
Important Notes
- Do not accept or use liftgate service unless you’ve ordered and paid for it — even if the driver says it’s okay. Carriers may charge you $100+ for unauthorized use.
- In some areas, liftgate delivery may be required by the freight company for safety or liability reasons
- If you’re unsure whether you need a liftgate, assume yes unless you have a dock or forklift on-site
Delivery Scheduling
- The carrier will contact you by phone to arrange a delivery appointment
- Typically, you’ll receive a 1–2 day notice and a 3–4 hour delivery window
Before You Sign
Inspect your shipment thoroughly before signing the delivery receipt:
- If there is any damage, note it clearly on the paperwork
- Take photos immediately
- Contact us within 24 hours
Summary
- Freight deliveries are made via large trucks to curbside locations
- Liftgate service is not included unless requested
- Some oversized items are not available for residential delivery and must be picked up at a depot
- Always inspect and document before accepting delivery
